From long holiday to short deadlines

Just got back from a great couple of weeks in Canada and vermont and will, no doubt, be posting some choice photos here soon. It’s good to come back to work: this week I’ve had 5 press ads to design for 3 different clients, each with a “needed yesterday” deadline. This is just one of them, for ToyGuard UK. Good to be back!

Dragon flies to Nuremberg

Tomorrow The Magic Dryer Company and Puff the Magic Dryer – the first hand-dyer designed with children in mind, and the first dragon character I’ve ever created – will arrive at the Nuremburg Toy Fair. I’ve just completed a last-minute information sheet. This is one of the toilet door signage stickers I’ve designed for the product. There’s one for girls too!

Puff the Magic Dryer

Many children are scared of the noise of hand-dryers, or find them inaccessible. The Magic Dryer Company have come up with a solution – the first hand-dryer for washrooms (slimline and low-noise) that’s made with children in mind. They briefed me to design and develop the Puff character (obviously inspired by the 60s kids’ tune Puff the Magic Dragon) as a friendly dragon who will blow their hand dry (and encourage them to wash their hand in the first place!). I’ve also designed the logo. It’s the beginning of a brand. This is the holding page for the website (copywritten by me too) which will be further developed in the very near future.
